Join us! 20 Hours of Prayer for Kapūkakī

Updated: Mar 22

E ola i ka wai #shutdownredhill

Join us on Zoom on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 from 4:00am to midnight for 20 hours of prayer led by clergy and spiritual leaders from diverse faith communities. Tune in at a time that's convenient for you and join us in prayer!

Register here for the event.

Did you know? March 22 is World Water Day, an annual United Nations Observance. Currently, 2 billion people are surviving without access to safe clean drinking water. This year's theme for World Water Day is groundwater: making the invisible visible.

Groundwater supplies the water for all of Oʻahu. According to the Board of Water Supply, "while groundwater is invisible, its impact is visible everywhere. Our drinking water, sanitation, food supply, and natural environment all rely on groundwater." In short, wai is sacred and must be protected at all costs.

We will have brief intermission periods throughout our programming. Are you a kānaka artist (Native Hawaiian) with Kapūkakī or wai related artwork? We would love to showcase your work during our programming and on social media! Please send an email to skim@faithactionhawaii.org to coordinate and feel free to include any of the following along with your art work: name (to be displayed with the art work), a short bio, and ways the community can support your art (contact info, Venmo username, store info/link).

Tune in from anywhere in the world or pray together with long-distance loved ones. Add an hour to your Google calendar! Please note: calendar entries will automatically adjust to your local time zone.
